Ringway, the Term Maintenance Contractors operating the highways on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC), operate a number of teams known as Incident Response Units (IRU’s). One of their main responsibilities is to ensure all potholes on the roads of Solihull are kept to a minimum.

Originally their Incident Response Units would carry out interim repairs, proving costly to Ringway and the local council. Labour, Traffic Management costs, Plant hire and fuel costs were increasing, resulting in an unproductive way to work. 

Ringway and Solihull MBC required a product that would efficiently repair the potholes with only one site visit required and a product that would reduce their overhead costs.

Ultracrete Instant Road Repair (IRR) and Ultracrete SCJ (Spray applied Bitumen Cold Joint Sealer) from the brand ULTRACRETE were introduced help them over come their pothole problems.
