Road grade composite manhole covers
The Structural Science Composite Company [SSC] supply a unique range of very light and very strong composite covers with composite frames that meet all the requirements for installation in the road and pedestrian areas, yet they are easy to move. The properties of the composite material enable many secondary problems associated with access covering to be solved and therefore they are the preferred solution in specialized positions by Structural Engineers, Owners, Operators and Health & Safety regulators. When the 'whole life cost' is analysed, an SSC composite cover is the perfect commercial solution.
SSC covers conform to AASHTO and European EN124 : 1994 D400 and B125 requirements.
Established in 2005, Structural Science Composites Limited [SSC], drawing on over 20 years knowledge in composite cover manufacture, is a leader in designing and supplying state of the art composite manhole cover solutions for underground access positions.
The inherent properties of composite materials make them ideal for the manhole environment. Their covers are extremely durable, lightweight, inert (so they will not corrode), non electrically conductive and have low thermal conductivity. Built on patented THRUBEAM® technology they have developed a range of generic covers suitable for pede4strian areas (B125) and vehicular areas (D400).
Environment
SSC are focused on manufacturing products which are environmentally friendly. The manufacturing process is a low energy consumer as their product is manufactured using a chemical exothermic reaction. Their light weight covers typically use a third less material by weight and significantly reduce the transportation impact on the environment.
Health and Safety
